Old Ladoga will have its 1250th anniversary in the year 2003. It plays a special role among the other historic cities of Russia. The geopolitical, transportational, and trade meaning of Ladoga 12 centuries ago defined its leading role in the creation of Northern Russian state, the ancestor of Kievan Russia. The numerous architectural, historical and archeological monuments of Old Ladoga reflect the millenary history of the Russian State.

The centuries have gone and Leningrad region is again became the center of attention. The regenerated Russia lays here the new trade routes, recreating the majesty of the past. Only the genuine patriots of the native land can do it. Not “Ivans who don’t remember the roots” create the future today. The resort to the historical roots is becoming more and more important. We will do anything to preserve and enrich the heritage left by our ancestors!
