“Prince Rurik” in Old Ladoga

On 23 July the presentation of the cafe Ruirik took place. The Investment Company “LenMontazhStroy” invested this project. The cafe is located on the main square of the village almost across the ancient fortress.

The name defined the interior style. An interior designer L. Kuznetsova selected an austere combination of gray and reddish of masonry, stained-glass windows, heavy wooden tables and benches, the tribute to the simple customs of ancient Ladoga. The white breadths in the interior of the cafe remind of Vikings’ barks and divide the room into two areas. Half-light and the decorative lanterns above the bar amplify the impression of the cozy chamber.

The owner of the cafe is a travel company “Ladoga-Tour” (St. Petersburg). Its branch was opened in 2003 in Volhov. The owners of the company determine the development of tourism infrastructure as their main target. The new cafe will provide high quality meal for tourist groups the amount of which is growing year after year. The doors of the Rurik cafe are opened for everyone. The sureness was expressed at gala-dinner on the presentation day that the cafe will be visited by the citizens of Ladoga, Volhov and Volhovsky district, the guests of Ladoga. The cafe will offer family celebrations, children parties.

The founders of Ladoga-Tour A. Ilyin, Y. Emaykin, K. Kazakov, the manager of Volhov branch L. Grigorieva welcomed the guests; there were a head deputy of Volhov administration L. Syakova, Old Ladoga archeological expedition head professor Kirpichnikov, the head of Old Ladoga region N. Ermak among the visitors.

The dean of father Varfolomey served a blessing service of the cafe, after that the whole did justice to the original cuisine. A good chief provides 90% of success. It seems like the chief of Rurik will increase the figure. Everything that was set on the tables was beautiful and appetizing.

On Friday, July 25 cafe Rurik accepted its first clients. The opening of the Rurik cafe is one of the first steps of Ladoga-Tour in the advancement of tourism in Priladozheye.
