Zelentskiy convent exists for yet 400 years.

     There’s an ancient convent not far away from the Volhov; on November 24 it became 400 years old. A coenobite of Tihvinsky convent Martyry Zelenetsky founded Zelenetsky convent. The shrine has become the sacred place in the North of Russia. Plenty of palmers visit the restored convent as well as Old Ladoga; the number of its parishioners is growing year after year. Metropolitan of St. Petersburg and Ladoga Vladimir, who presented the feast rite said kind and touching words about the past and the future of these lands. The abbot of the convent, father Pahomy pointed out the general desire to recreate the Orthodox shrine founded 400 years ago by the power of faith, hope and love in order to fill in anyone who will come here with the best sentiments.
